What are the Keys to Success? 3 Tips to Achieve Your Dreams

Have you ever met someone who seemed to have it all figured out, and wondered what their secret to success in life was? How did they achieve that confident attitude, poised appearance, and the freedom to galivant off on glamorous trips? They seemed to have the keys to success that many deem unattainable.

After years of constant grinding, it’s easy to feel discouraged. Successful people make it look easy, and you feel eons away from that promotion. What are those priceless keys to success that they know, and you don’t?

You fulfill your day-to-day obligations and errands, but you still feel stuck in a loop that circles you away from the success you dream of. Trust me; I know how crushing it can feel to compare yourself to others. And the more success you see, the farther away it feels from your grasp. I talk about this more in my Get Unstuck eBook.

But here’s a secret: success is not easy, but it’s within everyone’s reach. I learned that when I found stillness through meditation. Now, I share that knowledge through personal coaching and courses — to help others achieve their dreams and unlock the keys to success.

So, what are the major keys to success? Fact is, they are accessible to you, and stillness helps you attain them.

Your dreams are closer than you think. Just keep reading.

What are the 3 Keys to Success?

Success comes from a series of choices made consistently over months and years. But guess what: you can accelerate your journey by practicing stillness, the fuel powering these three keys to success.

Ready to reach your dreams? Then reach for these three keys to success.

Key #1: Self-Confidence

Easier said than done, right? You might think confidence is a personality trait, not a skill you can develop. Some scholars disagree, citing self-confidence a product of planning and preparation. Without a doubt, confidence is one of the most essential keys to success.

Think about the last time you had a performance meeting with your manager. Maybe you didn’t feel confident enough to ask for a raise or promotion, but ask yourself: were you really prepared to ask?

In this case, preparation would have looked like this:

  • Researching industry salary averages
  • Compiling examples of solid work
  • Citing testimonials from happy customers or executives
  • Brainstorming alternative requests in case a raise wasn’t possible, e.g., more time off

With all that prep, it’s hard not to feel confident asking for what you want, for what you deserve, what you’ve worked so hard for.

Another way to build self-confidence is through meditation and stillness. Meditation helps you observe things without attachment. Meaning? You start to see the world as it is — without the cloud of insecurity or the rosy lens of infatuation.

This self-awareness helps you recognize your strengths and weaknesses (keyword: strengths), which builds your confidence. No more selling yourself short!

Now that you’ve got the confidence, what will you do with it?

Key #2: Goal Setting

Caught in the thick of the daily grind, it feels impossible to look beyond each day. I get it — after countless emails, energy-draining calls, and overtime hours to finish your tasks, all you want to do is curl up on the couch and relax.

How can you have vision beyond the day-to-day minutia? Scholars at Shanghai University say that achieving goals is linked to greater life satisfaction. Goals also inspire motivation.

What do motivation and satisfaction translate to? In my opinion, greater success. Motivation is vital. Goal setting is the key to success that propels you forward. You’ll build confidence and excitement, driving you closer to your goals.

But how can you decide what your goals are? Do you stride towards what the media or your peers tell you? You can, but ultimately, you won’t feel satisfied. The best way to learn about your goals is to look inward. Meditation silences the noise in your mind, and guess what’s left? Your true desires.

So, you’re ready to work on building confidence and setting goals. Do you tackle it all day, every day, or can you afford a break?

Key #3: Rest. Yes, really. You must rest.

Modern society is obsessed with productivity and busyness. But here’s the kicker: busyness isn’t synonymous with success. Unfortunately, you can work 12-hour days, seven days a week, without being successful.

Why is there such a discrepancy between output and result? The missing ingredient is — you guessed it — rest.

Rest is one of the most important keys to success, meaning you can’t reach your dreams when you’re in constant motion. If you don’t give yourself time to pause and rest, you risk going on autopilot. At that stage, it’s easy to miss the important stuff as you zero-in on less rewarding matters.

What does rest look like for you? Ideal rest for me is a weekend-long boat ride in the sunshine, but I find opportunities to rest with stillness every day.

Consider taking short breaks (5-10 minutes) after every hour of work. Rest your eyes by avoiding screens before bed. My favorite way? Meditate in the morning for a few minutes — that mental rest will set you up for a day of success.

Unlock Success with Stillness!

Confidence, goal setting, and rest are the life-pumping organs to success. And stillness is the oxygen that keeps those organs working. When you’re in a rut, success feels unattainable; but with these three keys to success, I promise that you’ll get closer to your goals.
